Hand Felted Scarves
Most of my scarves are Nuno Felted, meaning that I have laminated wool and silk (or other open weave fabric) together. They may also include loose silk fibers, flax, bamboo, and other effect fibers. The silk fabric is laid over the wool and during the felting process, the wool fibers migrate through the silk. As the wool tangles and shrinks, it pulls the silk with it causing ruching, (puckering) and creating a wonderful texture. See more about feltmaking here.
